Oscars Red Carpet Winners

Halle Berry was the belle of the ball last night at the Oscars.  She donned a stunning Marchesa gown. The corset gown was nude, crystal encrusted, and had silk ruffles.  Her hair and makeup were flawless and completed this effortless look. Helen Mirren also looked fabulous on the red carpet wearing Vivienne Westwood.  Helen was nothing short of elegant in her silk gray gown and puff sleeve detail added flare to her red carpet look.  Hilary Swank was another hit at the Oscars with a Gucci Premiere couture gown.  The gown was red carpet glamour with a feather trim and a silver sequined bodice.  These women were flawless and were the essence of Hollywood glamour.

Shoe Pick of The Week

Celebrity Style - Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham has transformed herself into a style icon since her days with the Spice Girls.  She has become an international trendsetter and has made a name for herself in the fashion industry. Victoria is known for her classic, elegant, cutting edge, and timeless looks.  Victoria's looks has featured timeless pieces such as the fedora, furs, and her signature platform heel. She launched her clothing line, dVb, in 2008 which features dresses, denim, eyewear, and accessories. In the span of one year, she was featured on the cover of three different Vogue editions. Victoria graced the cover of British Vogue in April of 2008, Indian Vogue in November of the same year, and Russian Vogue in February of 2009.  Landing the Vogue covers solidified Victoria's status as a fashion icon.

Black History Month Feature - Beverly Johnson

Beverly Johnson is a supermodel who has helped pave the way for black models in the fashion industry.  She was the first black woman to grace the cover of American Vogue in 1974. Her cover was groundbreaking in the fashion industry where the following year a staggering number of  designers chose black models to model their collections. Beverly was also the first black woman to appear on the French edition of Elle magazine and quickly became a premier model of her time.  She has graced more than 500 magazine and was named by The New York Times as one of the most influential people in fashion of the 20th century.  Beverly branched out of modeling appearing in many movies such as Ashanti, The Sky is Gray, and Crossroads. She currently has a successful wig line, Beverly Johnson Hair Collection. In honor of Black History Month, A Flair For Fashion salutes the elegant and groundbreaking, Beverly Johnson.
